00:00

Well, because picking up poop is one of the least desirable aspects of walking your dog

00:05
and apparently almost impossible for some people. Yeah.

00:08
Toyota recently applied for a patent related to or patents related to a dog walking robot that can even clean up after a dog takes care of its business.

00:20
Okay, I don't know why I want this because I don't even have a dog. Joining us on the gogo news, live line patent Professor John Rizvi,

00:28
how would this actually work? So yeah, good morning. Pleasure to be here. It actually it's that Toyota US patent covers, it sprays water, and washes away the pee when your dog pees, and it poops it actually goes and picks it up. And the pet owner gets to ride along on a platform behind this device. So it's kind of like an incredible joy, right, so to speak, because you don't have to do anything. And they're just brought along if the vehicle takes care of all the mess.

01:04
Okay, that sounds amazing. First of all, why Toyota, though?

01:10
Yeah, so, I mean, there's a lot of theories, patents have changed. The reasons for getting patents over the years. I mean, a lot of companies are now getting what have been called Weird patents. And car manufacturers are no exceptions to this. Interesting, you know, patented concept by Tesla has Tesla cars have dog mode, so that the windows indicate that even if you see a pet inside the car, that the air conditioning is left on and that the dog or cat is okay, so that nobody tries to rescue your pet and break your windows or anything like that. So these are, these are things companies are doing especially car manufacturers, for a variety of reasons, but it's signaled that they're high tech, and sometimes it's for giving their consumers bragging rights. So even people that don't have a dog, they rave about the fact that their Tesla has dog mode. You know, it's,

02:12
I mean, it's just it's so funny, because, you know, we are, we are a society that loves pets, cats, dogs, whatever. And finally, it seems like manufacturers across pretty much every platform are starting to take that into consideration.

02:30
Absolutely, they are. And, and it's you know, it's a kind of neat idea. That also has catches the interest of people without pets. So even if you don't have a dog, you can relate to this feature it gives you if you have a Tesla would give you a bragging rights. Certainly if you if to hold up manufacturer that I can imagine that you really stand apart from your neighbors by having this dog walking platform vehicle in your garage next to the lawnmower.
